THE DESIGN GROUP INTERNSHIP
Lead Marketing Intern
This past summer, I served as the Lead Marketing Intern for the Design Group, an advertising agency dedicated to creating authentic, culturally relevant, and engaging marketing communications. In this role, I focused on the college connections sector, developing innovative campaigns to boost student attendance at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. I also contributed to various company creative projects, including a branded PowerPoint template, letterhead, holiday posts, and more. Throughout my internship, I had the opportunity to collaborate with professionals across marketing, business, and technology sectors, as well as gain meaningful experience and insight into the advertising world.
THE RESEARCH
I conducted a range of research and created reports, including exploring strategies to improve communication with graduating seniors at UAPB and identifying potential real mascots for the Design Group’s other partnerships, such as Jojo the Waterdrop.
THE ASSETS
I worked to finalize powerpoint templates and company letterheads for the Design Group utilizing Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. The themes and techniques used were based off the company’s mission and evaluation of their visual value.
THE GRAPHICS
These graphics were designed to drive consistent traffic to the Design Group’s social channels while reflecting the company’s commitment to empowering Black and Latino urban youth. To capture the essence of the Design Group, I centered my designs around pop culture references that resonate within these communities.
